My Social Media Experience and Favorite Tools
Hi everyone! My name is Swahibu Kaba, and I’m majoring in Business Administration with a focus on human resource management. I’ve been working in retail sales and social media marketing, and I also run a small clothing brand called Pushthru. Social media plays a huge role in both my work and personal life, so I’ve spent a lot of time exploring different platforms and tools to see what works best.
Tools I Use
- Instagram – Instagram is probably my go-to platform for marketing my brand. I like it because it’s very visual, and I can really show off the style and quality of my clothing. I also like using stories, reels, and hashtags to reach people who might be interested in what I’m offering. The downside is that it can be tough to get organic reach now, so sometimes you have to rely on ads to reach new followers.
- TikTok – TikTok is great for short, creative videos that can go viral fast. I enjoy using it because trends can really help my brand get noticed, and it’s fun to experiment with different video styles. The challenge is that trends change super quickly, so it takes a lot of time and creativity to stay relevant.
- Facebook – I use Facebook mostly for community building and keeping in touch with people who know my brand. It’s good for creating groups or posting updates, but younger audiences aren’t as active there anymore, so it’s not always the best place for reaching new customers.
- LinkedIn – LinkedIn is where I share professional insights and network with people in marketing and business. I like it because it’s more professional and focused on business connections, but engagement can be slower, and it’s not as creative as Instagram or TikTok.
Likes and Dislikes Overall
What I enjoy most about social media is the chance to be creative, tell a story, and connect with my audience in real time. I also like how analytics can help track what works and what doesn’t. What I dislike is that managing multiple platforms can be time-consuming, and the algorithms make it tricky to reach people without paid promotions. Finding a balance between creativity and strategy is always a learning process, and it’s something I keep refining as I grow my brand and work with clients.
I’d love to hear from everyone else—what social media platforms have worked best for you, and how do you keep your content engaging in a crowded digital space?
